Homemade Bacon Loving Dog Recipe

puppy and kitten at food dishThere is something about bacon that draws everyone to the kitchen; could be the smell or maybe the taste. No matter, after the first piece is thrown into the skillet, the dogs show up waging their tails.

Occasionally, I will prepare a little bacon treat for my pack and most recently my girlfriend suggested that I add liver to save on cost. Thinking what a great idea, I went home to try it out.

Bacon Loving Dog Recipe Ingredients

1 pound of liver

3 slices bacon, cook it first

2 cups of bread crumbs or bottom of the chip bag

2 eggs whisked

1 tablespoon of minced garlic (great for flea control)

1 teaspoons of veggie oil or olive oil (great for their coat)

1 cup water (add more if needed)

To Prepare Your Dog Recipe

Preheat heat the oven to 350F.

First blend the liver into a thick paste.

In a large mixing bowl combine liver paste, bacon, bread crumbs, garlic, oil and the eggs.

Mix thoroughly and place in cooking pan. ( Bread pan)

Bake for 45 minutes the top should be slightly brown.

Let it cool and serve your dogs.

If you have just one dog and need to store the leftovers, it should keep fine in the refrigerator until the next meal. I just have never had leftovers from my pack of dogs.

Preparing a little treat for your dog can be wonderful fun for the whole family and you know exactly what your special dogs are eating.
