Homemade Dog Treat Recipes

Dear Sensible Dog Lover,

portercooking101I hope you find these few recipes helpful and your Sensible Dog finds them most enjoyable. My daughter and I are creating new recipes for our seven dogs all the time so check back often for new recipes.

Please understand that dogs cannot eat all the food the family does, so I recommend feeding your dog any new food in moderation. I love your dog and do not want him sick from any homemade recipe you find here or elsewhere online, so please check with your Veterinary if you have any questions or doubts.

I do testify that my seven dogs have tried and tested these homemade dog treats without any signs of health issues.

The health benefits of homemade dog treats parallel our human need to eat healthier and live healthier lives, so it only goes to reason that we not only want the best nutrition for ourselves, but also for our Sensible Dog companions.

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

FREE Homemade Sensible Dog Treats

Homemade Beefy Cookies

2 6-ounce jars of beef-and-vegetable baby food
2 cups of nonfat dry milk

1 cup of wheat germ

Makes about 2 dozen small cookies.

First you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Drop by small spoonfuls onto a greased pan. You can flatten slightly, like you would a sugar cookie. I like cutting them into fun shapes such as bones, paws; especially when making them as gifts. Bake for 15 minutes until slightly brown at the edges. Let cool. Give to your Sensible Dog and let them enjoy! I have found they store in the refrigerator up to six days.

Cheesy HotDogs

1 Hot Dog (Chicken)

1 Slice Cheese

First you will cut hotdog in to pieces. Put pieces of cheese on top, any brand of cheese. Microwave it until the cheese begins to run, take out and let it cool. It is now ready for your Sensible Dog best friend!

Note: Note use chicken hot dogs, I have heard other hot dogs are not very good for most dogs.

Peanut Butter Biscuits

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 cup oats

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup wheat germ

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup water

First preheat oven to 325°F. Secondly, we are going to combine all ingredients together, being sure to mix well. Form your mixture into 1 1/2-inch sized balls and lay on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten balls with a fork.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Pull them out and let them cool down. Now you are ready to give to your Sensible Dog friend. Makes about 2 dozens, really depends on your size. Our seven dog family members especially love these homemade treats.

Doggy Banana Bones

1 banana

1 egg

1c fast-cook oats

1/3c milk (non dairy for that lactose intolerant dog)

1/2c all-purpose flour

1/8c rice

Preheat oven to 350°F

Squash bananas in a bowl set to the side. Beat the egg and add all ingredients into the bowl; mix it well by hand or blender. Spread evenly on a cookie sheet use 2 if you have to. Now you are ready to place in the oven for 2 1/2 minutes. They should be slightly golden. Take them out; let them cool, cut and serve. Get the bones shape cutter for great gifts or for selling your homemade treats, I keep the scrap pieces for our dogs, benefits lots of dogs.

If you are uncomfortable giving all purpose flour to your dog substitute 7/8 cup rice flour for each cup of white flour. Check with your veterinary when in doubt.

Crazy Easy Cookies With Dry Dog Food

Place 2 cups of dry food into a blender or food processor. Grind to a powder consistency. Pour the dry powder into a medium mixing bowl and add 1 1/4 cup of water. Stir until a dough forms. You can use your dog cookie cutters, they always look cute. Or use a table spoon and drop dog cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° F for 30 minutes. Cool completely before serving to your dog. You can store in the refrigerator for one week.

Check Out A Few Ideas Others Are Trying!

Just a memo: I believe that the sales page is a bit glorified, I doubt very much if anyone will make $100,000 a year right out of the dog house. I suggest taking a look because of the low price tag $24.95 along with the 90 day money back guarantee they are well worth the price as a valuable starter point if nothing else.
